Biography Without a doubt one of the biggest talents to break through in Liverpool’s tough and competitive Hip Hop scene, 22 yr old DJ Shinobi only started djing in 2002 and has made major strides since. In this short space of time, Shinobi has played high profile parties in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, London and more as well as playing an exclusive summer residency in Bar Galatea in Greece in 2003.

When he is not been spinning alongside heavyweights such as Radio 1’s Tim Westwood and Trevor Nelson, MOBO Award winner Shortee Blitz or even on a UK wide tour with the likes of G Unit and 50 Cent’s DJ Whoo Kid or Eminem’s DJ Green Lantern, you can catch him at school’s, libraries and youth centres teaching youngsters Hip Hop culture alongside MC TL as part of Blueprint Productions.

Shinobi also hosts one of the North West’s most exciting and well-attended Urban Club Nights “ HEAT” which provides a platform for local talent to perform as well as showcasing hot acts like Kano, Crazy Titch, D Double E, Roll Deep, Nathan, JME, Skinnyman and more.

He also worked as a presenter and reporter alongside the Upfront Team on BBC Radio Merseyside and has interviewed stars such as Redman, Erick Sermon, Def Squad, The Clipse, Klashnekoff and Terra Firma and a whole host of Hip Hop heavyweights.

Shinobi has also been chosen as the official tour DJ for one of Liverpool’s hottest girl groups MIINX who are currently the subject of intense major label bidding wars and should see the group enjoying chart success and international tours.

All these major moves in a short space of time led to DJ Semtex from Def Jam UK and BBC 1XTRA realising Shinobi’s potential as quite simply one of the hottest kid’s on the block and didn’t hesitate to sign him up to the Def Jam Street Team. This very prestigious honour is available to only the finest UK DJ’s and those with the extraordinary hustle and desire to succeed in the music industry.
