Biography

Sy Chan (21) is a DJ to be recognized. Not only for his wild personality and funky sets, but for his versatility. From starting DJing from the tender age of 14, Sy started to experiment with hard house and trance for 3 years. From then he moved to house, dance and then Hip Hop and RnB, and now back to house music.

His first experience behind the decks was on 23 rd September 2002 at Teasers, Manchester at the student freshers party where the Heartless Crew performed on the night.

From then, Sy was spinning the best of Hip Hop and RnB in the clubs around the North West. In his spare time he was also spinning house music where his passion for music lies. In his experience within the urban scene, he has supported the infamous Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood at Club Void, Stoke back in 2003 where he was known as DJ Play.

From then, Sy left the Urban scene and appeared on the House scene. “Funky, sexy and Glamorous” as he describes it.

From the skills and tricks picked up from many music genres such as Trance, Hard House, Techno, Dance, House, Hip Hop and RnB, he has fused all these skills into his house sets when possible making it sound much more exciting.

With an arsenal of Funky, Soulful Vocal House, Dirty House, Progressive & Tech House records, Sy can easily adapt his style with ease.

His Style is a cross between the dirty beats of Erick Morillo and the funky basslines of Junior Jack.

Additional Information:

Sy Chan, not only a DJ but also a promoter. Sy is the promoter of the funky house night known as Funky Munky.

Past nights include Chinese Urban Agenda held @ Satans Hollow, Manchester back in 2003.
